Industrial Affairs Manager

Based in Mount Edgecombe and reporting to the Commercial Executive, the position of Industrial Affairs Manager provides input into the strategy of driving revenue growth through all components of price and quality. The role is critical in ensuring that cane growers receive the correct RV price through performing various calculations, scenarios and checks as specified in the Sugar Industry Agreement.

The Industrial Affairs Manager provides support to the Commercial Executive in terms of representing the Association and participating on various industrial and financial SASA committees and internal Association committees which have direct bearing on grower revenue and sustainability.

This position is responsible for providing technical advice and input to grower caucuses and committees and to represent the interests of growers on these various committees and working groups by providing direction on issues under debate.

Candidates must be innovative thinkers, tenacious and firm in dealing with matters and must be comfortable in conflict situations. Candidates must be confident interacting with all levels, as will be required to present at Board level as well as to staff and cane growers. This post requires an individual who is methodical and precise and pays high attention to detail.

The ideal candidate must hold a MSc in Agricultural Economics or other relevant qualification, be highly competent and proficient in working with calculations, statistics and analytic skills, knowledge of the Sugar Industry as well as computer literacy is essential.
