Land Reform Manager
Based at Kwa-Shukela in Mount Edgecombe and reporting to the Corporate Executive, this position is responsible for coordinating, implementing and managing the actions arising from SA Canegrowers’ business objectives directed at the sustainability of the three components of Land Reform: Restitution, Redistribution and Tenure Reform. The position will be responsible for managing the SA Canegrowers’ Land Reform Strategy and developing work programmes in line with the objectives of this strategy. The incumbent will represent and further the interests of SA Canegrowers’ in relevant forums and committees and interact with key stakeholders as well as provide guidance to grower members of relevant forums and District Land Reform Committees on all land reform matters.
The successful candidate should have a relevant financial/ economic degree with knowledge and understanding of policies and legislation focused on Land Reform and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in an agricultural economic environment with a focus on land reform. The position requires the incumbent to have an excellent knowledge of the elements of land reform, have experience working with various stakeholders, excellent planning and project management skills and interpersonal skills. The position requires the incumbent to analyse relevant economic and financial information from the land reform advisory service for all growers to enhance the understanding of the status of land reform growers in the industry, and as such the candidate must have good financial and economic skills and have highly proficient computer skills.
