Technology and Innovations Manager
Reporting to the Commercial Executive, this position will run the technology and innovations components in line with the Womoba and SA Canegrowers business strategy. The position must actively drive revenue growth for growers through researching, and managing all innovative and technological projects and contribute to the delivery of strategy in this area.
The incumbent should hold a master’s degree in business or an economics or business-related degree with more than five years technical and commercial experience. Innovative and creative thinking is essential for this role as well as business acumen and experience in establishing new businesses. Sugar industry experience would be preferred. The successful candidate would need to have good report writing skills as this role would entail report writing and motivation for board approval. The role will entail managing each project, including all financial and budgeting aspects. This position will also be responsible for all planning and management of the Innovation group programme of work, events and forums, as well as communicate innovations to growers and SA Canegrowers staff. This post works closely with regional staff regarding grower on-farm implementation.
